Millie AKA '“noodle” is a DJ and party organiser based between Edinburgh, Northumberland and London. She is a resident of GRDN: a collective of artists, friends and DJs throwing intimate parties in unusual locations around Edinburgh.

She also helps run Subterranean Sound, an annual two-day event celebrating the Scottish capital’s bustling underground music community. Finally, she runs a monthly radio show on ehfm.live, where she meanders playfully through her favourite genres: from 90’s tech to weirdo techno and far, far beyond.

What’s your ideal breakfast?
EGGS b2b KETCHUP.

What was the first record (or CD) you ever bought?
Clubbers Guide to Electro.

What’s your musical guilty pleasure?
80’s big room music. Think ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ by YES. Or 90’s hard house.

Does your alias have a backstory?
My parents used to call me noodle bug when I was little because of the “noodling around” I did. I think it’s such a cute little word. I also love noodle from the Gorillaz.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever got for free?
I recently found a pretty sexy pair of black ear muffs on the beach recently which I washed and kept…?

Do you have a party trick?
I can riffle shuffle a deck of cards

What’s your current rotation of non-dance music?
Tres Tres Chic by Mocean Worker. I think that track would count as jazz? It’s from the Devil Wears Prada soundtrack.

Where's your current favourite place(s) in the world (and why)?
Shanghai. I lived there for two years after graduating from Leeds. Beyond the food (which is worth moving there for alone), the underground music scene is ripe with Chinese (and international) talent and constantly evolving.

Any other passions besides music?
I’m currently learning to surf.

What’s something you’re proud of about yourself?
Running our debut Subterranean Sound festival last October with my friends in Edinburgh. We managed to organise it in less than 3 months.
