Moskalus was born and currently resides in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He started his musical journey back in 2007 upon the creation of his first YouTube channel where he would upload music from lesser-known artists to help them promote their music.

After some success and recognition he began making music videos on his second channel from a desire to be a part of the scene not only as a regular uploader, but as someone who wanted to express their own feelings.

His channel boosted popularity massively through his first “big break” making and posting the music video for Bambounou's track "Onto This", released on 50 Weapons in 2014. After that, he gained a much greater audience and became a staple in the online promotional circuit which helped him to work with labels such as: Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade, Die Orakel, Pinkman and Lehult as well as working alongside artists like Baltra, Fjaak, J. Albert and Benedikt Frey.

After years of listening to and digging for music of all kinds, as well as making videos for artists, Moskalus has developed a very wide-ranging taste.

Nowadays in his DJ sets you can expect to hear anything from disco to house, techno, UK Garage or dubstep from the golden era.

Interview

What’s your ideal breakfast?
Oat meal, yogurt and scoop of protein!

What was the first record (or CD) you ever bought?
That was an album by Jeff Mills - Art Of Connecting.

What’s your musical 'guilty pleasure'?
My musical guilty pleasure lately is Croatian music! Nothing bad against it of course. I do not understand 90% of what they say, but somehow it really touch my soul. Especially the oldies! For example Dino Dvornik or Oliver Dragojević!

Does your alias have a backstory?
Yes, there used to be a browser game called gladiatus (actually still active!) and I was creating an account there and simply added suffix -us to my surname and here we go!

What’s the best thing you’ve ever got for free?
All the records, clothes and letters that people have been sending me during those years.

Do you have a party trick?
I don't think so hehe.

What’s your current rotation of non-dance music?
For a really long time: Hip-Hop, Bossanova, all kinds of Jazz and other lounge & chill out genres.

Where's your current favourite place(s) in the world (and why)?
My favourite place in the world at the moment is Zadar because my girl and the best dog are there. Not only that, I just love being there to just chill out, especially when it is not full summer season.

Any other passions besides music?
I do go to the gym and play Magic: The Gathering!

What’s something you’re proud of about yourself?
I am proud that I have always kept moving when people were saying no.

Describe your Earworm mix
A lot of people know that I began my musical journey with the UK Sound, so I am always happy to pay a tribute. This one is really fresh and reflects the actual sound of the movement!
